Fall equinox, the halfway point between the longest and shortest days of the year, invites us to slow down, to remember gratitude and to step into our role as wise elders-in-training. This is a time for cleansing the body and the mind.
As plants are now intelligently pulling their vital energy back towards their roots in preparation for the holiness of the dark, it’s time for us to lighten our load by putting down the heavy basket of Summer obligations. Celebrating equinox is about cleansing the body and the mind.

Meditation is both an art and a science. It’s the art of fully conscious living actualized through a systematic process of training the mind. We train our muscles to be stronger through activity. As a result, our body is less likely to experience injury and pain. We train our minds to be stronger through meditation. As a result we experience less ‘mind pain’: anxiety, worry, overthinking, negative thoughts, self-judgement.

In the face of global wildfires, social isolation, climate change, state sanctioned violence and unstable political shifts, 2020 has brought us much to grieve. We are all on our own grief journey, perhaps mourning a lost loved one, the loss of a job or the loss of the life we used to know.
Within the fertile soil of grief lies the seed of both personal and collective hope and renewal. Sacred grief is a communal practice- it takes a village to feel seen, held and expressed. We need each other. It’s only by learning to grieve together that we can begin the build a bridge of hope.
Yoga helps us to ground and create more space around the experience of challenge, unclogging stuck emotions from our body-mind that we might liberate our precious life force.
Join me and Eve Fine, MFT, for a virtual Yoga + Grief Medicine Circle, a benefit for the California Wildlife Relief Fund, on October 18th from 4-6pm for gentle yoga, authentic sharing and cleansing ritual.

Where the lush jungle meets warm sand, where monkeys play just above lapping waves, our beach house oasis is the site of an epic experiment in the yogic science of alchemy. What happens when we combine daily yoga & meditation, healing food, conscious community, crystal blue ocean, white sand beaches, laughter & jungle adventures while practicing techniques for infusing our lives with greater sense of gratitude, purpose & ease?
A one minute jungle walk to three pristine miles of white sand beach is the site of our temple oasis. When we aren't exploring our body-mind on the mat or playing in the world class waves that accommodate both pro and novice surfers, relax in a hammock underneath the shade of the open aired Rancho lined with beautiful teak wood, take some laps in the pool or enjoy the abundant local culture of 'pure vida' (pure life!).
Optional adventures and lessons include surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding through the jungle on the Nosara River, adventurous ATV rides to waterfalls, or soaring from peak to peak over the jungle on one of the world's longest zip-lines!
A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Nosara Refuge for Wildlife.
